Item Aerodynamic performance of some wind turbine rotor models(Uludağ Üniversitesi, 2010) Vardar, Ali; İzli, Nazmi; Kurtulmuş, Ferhat; Uludağ Üniversitesi/Ziraat Fakültesi/Tarım Makinaları Bölümü.In this study, power coefficients of miniature wind turbine rotors produced by using NACA profiles were determined. To this end, an open system for wind turbine rotor model was established. In this test system power values of the wind that reach to each of the rotor form and tip speed ratios of each rotor form were indicated. With the help of these data, power coefficients of each rotor form were calculated. It was found that power coefficient values that were obtained in the study changed between 0,316 and 0,416. It was determined that 4-bladed rotors that were produced by using NACA 4415 and NACA 5317 profiles, having 0 degree twisting angle and approximately 10 degrees binding angle, had the highest ideal power coefficient values.Item The research of the combining ability of agronomic traits of bread wheat in F1 and F2 generations(Uludağ Üniversitesi, 2010) Çiftçi, Esra Aydoğan; Yağdı, Köksal; Uludağ Üniversitesi/Ziraat Fakültesi/Tarla Bitkileri Bölümü.This study was carried out between 2004-2007 vegetation periods at the experiment fields of Uludağ University Faculty of Agriculture, Agricultural Application and Research Center. In this study 5 advanced breeding lines and 3 bread wheat cultivars that have adapted to the region and their F1 and F2 crosses that have been obtained by Line x Tester crossing of these have been used as material. In the research, the plant height, spike length, number of spikelets/spike, number of grains/spike, grain weight/spike and 1000 kernel weight were researched for combining abilities. According to the traits in both F1 and F2 generations show that non-additive gene effects play a role on the heredity of these traits. For most of the researched traits, appropriate parents and crosses were determined for all the traits, this shows that this cross population can be used to obtain desired bread wheat for future generations.Item A research on the composition of pomegranate molasses(Uludağ Üniversitesi, 2010) İncedayi, Bige; Tamer, Canan Ece; Çopur, Ömer Utku; Uludağ Üniversitesi/Ziraat Fakültesi/Gıda Mühendisliği Bölümü.In this study, seven different brands of pomegranate molasses purchased from the local markets of Bursa, Turkey, were analyzed for the chemical components, some of which are important for nutrition and health. Four samples were found to contain glucose syrup, one of which was found to have very high amount of hydroxymethylfurfural (1524.98 mg/kg). Analyses showed that protein, invert sugar, total sugar and total polyphenol contents of the samples were ranged 0.08-1.54 g/100g, 21.60-57.60 g/100 g, 44.80 - 65.3 g/100 g and 551.61-9695.17 mg/kg, respectively, while the antioxidant activity of the samples were found to be between 0 to 46.31%. The samples were also found rich in minerals e.g. potassium (450-4700 mg/100g), calcium (71.88-1803.63 mg/100g), magnesium (7.48-409.10 mg/100g) and iron (1.05-22.99 mg/100g). As some of the components were found in more amounts than the limits of the relevant standard, it is suggested that the production techniques for pomegranate molasses should be improved and optimized.Item Water-yield relationships in deficit irrigated potato(Uludağ Üniversitesi, 2010) Ayas, Serhat; Korukçu, Abdurrahim; Uludağ Üniversitesi/Yenişehir İbrahim Orhan Meslek Yüksek Okulu.; Uludağ Üniversitesi/Ziraat Fakültesi/Tarımsal Yapılar ve Sulama Bölümü.This study was conducted in Yenişehir, Bursa between 2004 and 2005 so as to investigate the effect of water deficiency applied in different growth periods of potato on yield and quality parameters. In this study, ten different irrigation treatments in four different growth periods (vegetative growth, tuber formation, tuber bulking and ripening) of potato plant (Solanum Tuberosum L, Hermes) were formed and the yield and quality parameters obtained from these treatments were evaluated. Depending on the treatments, the amount of irrigation water applied to the plants ranged between 345 and 585 mm in the first year, and between 286 and 485 mm in the second year and plant water consumption varied between 399 and 655 mm in the first year and between 370 and 646 mm in the second year. Yield, average tuber weight, average tuber diameter, average tuber size, tuber dry matter ratio, tuber starch ratio, the number of tubers per plant, the number of main stems per plant, tuber peel ratio, the rate of marketable tuber ratio and plant height values were found statistically significant. In both of the years, the highest levels of yield were obtained as 32.3 t ha-1 and 35.0 t ha-1 in the treatments in which full irrigation was conducted in all growth periods, while the lowest levels of yield were obtained as 12.1 t ha-1 and 10.9 ha-1 in the treatments in which 50% water deficiency was applied in all growth periods respectively. Water- yield relationship factor (ky) was found as 0.909 on average. The highest values of water use efficiency (WUE) and irrigation water use efficiency (IWUE) were obtained as 5.23 and 4.35 respectively only in the treatment in which deficit irrigation was given only in ripening period and full irrigation was applied in the other periods.
