Item Complex regional pain syndrome after thromboendarterectomy - Which type is it?(Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, 2002-09) Planchon, C. A.; Baillet, G.; Thomassin, Michel; Foult, Jean Marc; Tamgaç, Feyzi; Uludağ Üniversitesi/Tıp Fakültesi/Nükleer Tıp Anabilim Dalı.; 35569192500The authors describe a complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) and discuss its type according to the presence or absence of nerve injury. A patient underwent thromboendarterectomy of the right popliteal artery. Subsequently, right lower limb reflex sympathetic dystrophy developed, which was confirmed by scintigraphy and responded well to calcitonin treatment. Typing according to the new classification of CRPS type I or II with possible nerve injury is discussed, and a short review of the literature is included.Item Extraskeletal accumulation of Tc-99m HMDP in a tuberculous cold abscess(Lippincott-Raven Publ, 1995) Baillet, G.; Delporte, M. P.; Moretti, J. L.; Tamgaç, Feyzi; Alper, Eray; Uludağ Üniversitesi/Tıp Fakültesi/Nükleer Tıp Anabilim Dalı.; 0000-0002-2325-7728A large and well-delineated area of increased uptake of Tc-99m HMDP in extraskeletal tissue is presented. This well-delineated scintigraphic lesion includes an extremely avid upper portion conforming to the right gluteal region, lateral to the iliac bone. The lower portion of the lesion spreads down to the lower two-thirds of the right femur as a lower, but still higher uptake compared to skeletal tissue. The final diagnosis of this lesion was a tuberculous cold abscess that was drained, and the therapy with a combination of three drugs was started.
