It identifies the factors influencing the labor cost that burdened the coconut producers. The study was conducted in the province of Lanao del Norte in the Philippines from October to November 2016. A total of 400 coconut producers were surveyed using the closed-ended questionnaires. The data were analyzed using Garrett's ranking method and multiple linear regression was applied by the aid of SPSS version 23. The study reveals that high cost of labor is the prime issue encountered by coconut producers in the province. The inadequacy of labors was considered as an important issue since it was ranked as the second rank in labor issues by the coconut producers. It further reveals that the number of the laborers, size of the land, and the number of coconut tree have a strong influence on the cost of labors.Item Filipinler'de hindistan cevizi yetiştiren üreticilerin sorunları; Lanao del Norte ili örneği(Uludağ Üniversitesi, 2018-07-04) Manaros, Mike; Gürbüz, İsmail Bülent; Uludağ Üniversitesi/Fen Bilimleri Enstitüsü/Tarım Ekonomisi Anabilim Dalı.Bu çalışmanın temel amacı, hindistan cevizi üreticilerinin üretim aşamasında karşılaştığı sorunları belirlemektir. Çalışma Filipinler'in Lanao del Norte ilinde Ekim - Kasım 2016 tahirleri arasında yapılmıştır. Bu bölgede temel ürünün hindistan cevizi olması ve küçük aile işletmelerinin, bu üretimde önemli payının bulunması, nedeniyle konu araştırmaya değer bulunmuştur. Toplamda 400 kişiyle görüşülerek anket uygulanmıştır. Çalışmada, üreticilerinin karşılaştığı sorunlar, verimi etkileyen faktörler irdelenmiştir. Buna bağlı olarak devlet desteği de analiz edilmiştir. Elde edilen veriler SPSS 23 istatistik programında analiz edilmiştir. Çalışma sonucunda işletmenin pazara olan uzaklığı, ara ziraat yapılması, işgücü maliyeti gibi sorunlar tespit edilmiştir. Fiyatların nispeten dalgalı ve düşük seyretmesi, bitki hastalık ve zararlıları, hasat sorunları, pazarlamada karşılaşılan yüksek maliyetli nakliye ve vergi gibi önemli sorunlara da rastlanmıştır. Regresyon analiz sonuçlarına göre, eğitim düzeyinin, arazinin (hektarda) büyüklüğünün, hektar başına dikilen ağaç sayısının, arazinin pazara olan uzaklığının ve hasat sıklığının Hindistan cevizi veriminde önemli bir etki gösterdiğini ortaya koymuştur. Coconut may have a lesser impact on the environment. However, its negative impact may influence the coconut. farming of the farmers overwhelmingly. The study was carried out in Lanao del Norte Province in the Philippines. from October to November 2016. It was selected purposively for the reason that the majority of the farming activities is from coconut. farming particularly in smallholding. farming. A total of 400 respondents were interviewed using closed-ended questionnaires. It was. felt necessary to identify the impact of coconut production on the environment, the internal and external faced by coconut producers, the factors influencing the coconut yield, and the practices on coconut productions by coconut producers. The study revealed that the severe problems encountered by the coconut producers on coconut production. for internal problems were the far distance of the land from farm to market road, intercropping, high cost of laborers, and low and fluctuating price of coconut product for the apparent problems. Furthermore, issues such as pests and diseases, difficulties in nut collections, high transportation expenses in marketing problem, and government taxes. for the obvious question were. found as severe problems. The regression results revealed that the educational Attainment, size of the land (in hectare), number of coconut tree planted per hectare, the distance of the property from the market road, and the frequency of harvesting nut have a strong influence on coconut production.Item Local sustainability: Evaluating visitors' level of satisfaction in Cumalikizik, Turkey(Parlar Scientific Puplications, 2018-02-02) Gürbüz, İsmail Bülent; Manaros, Mike; Uludağ Üniversitesi/Ziraat Fakültesi/Tarım Ekonomisi Bölümü.; 0000-0001-5340-3725; M-4349-2019; A-8721-2018Tourism has become the largest and fastest growing industry in the world. As the tourism industry grows faster, the research on tourism grows as well, particularly in rural tourism. Tourist satisfaction becomes one of the considerable goals in every tourism research. The study seeks to determine the satisfaction level of visitors in the rural area. The study was conducted in Cumalikizik village in the province Bursa, Turkey and open-ended questionnaires were used. SPSS 20 program was also used to analyze the data gathered. The findings revealed that some factors like destination (historical texture and natural beauties), perceived value (products), and expectations had influenced the level of satisfactions of the visitors positively and negatively. It was revealed that the overall satisfaction is high, 57.44% of the respondents stated that they were satisfied and 15.13% said they were not satisfied. whereas, 27.43% did not give responses about their total satisfaction. The findings also revealed an interesting result about the hypotheses. It revealed that there was no significant correlation between the monthly income and the repetition of visit (hypothesis 1); for hypothesis 2, it revealed that there was a significant relationship between the age and the repetition of the visit.
