Item Effect of hepabial carnitine (R) supplemented to drinking water on the performance of broilers under different stress conditions(Ecole Nationale Veterinaire Toulouse, 2006-03) Deniz, Gülay; Türkmen, İbrahim; Orhan, Fatih; Biricik, H. S.; Uludağ Üniversitesi/Veteriner Fakültesi/Hayvan Besleme ve Beslenme Hastalıkları Anabilim Dalı.; 56186472300; 6701855392; 12807777000; 6602982111This experiment was conducted to determine the effect of L-carnitine, choline, artichoke leaf extract and sorbitol combination (Hepabial Carnitine(R)) supplemented to drinking. water on the performance of broilers which were under stress conditions induced by feed change and vaccination. In the experiment, a total of 300, 1-day old male broiler chicks were used. Day old chicks were randomly divided into 3 groups (group 1, group 2. control group). each with 5 replicate groups containing 20 chicks and fed with standard broiler diets. Hepabial Carnitine(R) was supplemented to drinking water of treatment groups at 1 ml/l, except the control group. Group 1 (feed change group) received Hepabial Carnitine(R) at the beginning of the trial for three days. and then for two days in every feed change period. Group 2 (vaccination group) received Hepabial Carnitine(R) for two days 6 hours after each vaccination. Growth performance (body weight, body weight gain, feed intake and feed conversion ratio) was recorded weekly and carcass performance (hot carcass weight and hot carcass yield) was measured after slaughtering on the 42(nd) day. At the end of the experiment, body weight. body weight gain and hot carcass weight were found significantly higher (P<0.05) in the groups 1 and 2 than in the control group. In the same way, feed conversion ratio was significantly improved (P<0.05) in the groups 1 and 2 by Hepabial Carnitine(R) supplementation. There was no significant difference between the control and treatment groups in feed intake and hot carcass yield of broilers. These results suggested that L-carnitine, choline. artichoke leaf extract and sorbitol combination (Hepabial Carnitine(R)) given with drinking water in periods of feed change aid vaccination may have a potential to improve broiler performance. The results also suggested that broilers receiving this combination can better cope with various stress factors.Item Effect of herbal mixture supplementation to fish oiled layer diets on lipid oxidation of egg yolk, hen performance and egg quality(Ankara Üniversitesi, 2011) Orhan, Fatih; Eren, Mustafa; Uludağ Üniversitesi/Vetereninerlik Fakültesi/Hayvan Besleme ve Beslenme Hastalıkları Anabilim Dalı.; AAC-5057-2020; 12807777000; 9239300300In this study, the effects of a specific herbal mixture as a feed additive in layer diets which are enriched with omega-3 fatty acids by fish oil on egg yolk lipid oxidation, hen performance and egg quality were investigated. A total of 140 Lohmann white 34 week old hens were divided into four groups and the study was carried out 16 weeks. Negative control diet was not included supplemental oil, herbal mixture and synthetic antioxidant (NC); fish oiled control diet (FOC) was involved fish oil (1.5 %) and soy oil (1.5 %) but herbal mixture and synthetic antioxidants free; herbal mixture diet was formulated as of FOC diet + herbal mixture [Origanum Vulgare (dried leaf), Thymus Vulgaris (dried leaf), Thyme Oil, Origanum Oil, Garlic Oil, Anise Oil and Fennel Oil] (FOHM) and synthetic antioxidant diet (FOSA) was prepared with FOC diet + synthetic antioxidants (ethoxyquine, butylhydroxitoluene, butylhydroxianisole and citric acid). Egg production, feed conversion ratio, feed consumption egg weight, eggshell breaking strength and haugh unit were not affected by the dietary treatments. There were no significant differences between egg yolk MDA values of NC and FOC until 42(th) storage day (+4 degrees C) but MDA values in egg yolk of FOC was higher(p < 0.05) than NC's after 42(th) storage day. Addition of herbal mixture and synthetic antioxidant separately to FOC' diet reduced egg yolk MDA values during 56 days storage period even if it is in the first day (p < 0.05). According to these data, addition of herbal mixtures to fish oiled layer diets instead of synthetic antioxidants can be a natural method to prevent egg yolk from oxidation.Item Effects of different levels of rice bran with and with-out enzyme on performance and size of the digestive organs of broiler chickens(Ecole Nationale Veterinaire Toulouse, 2007-07) Deno, Gregory; Orhan, Fatih; Gençoğlu, Hıdır; Eren, Mine; Cengiz, Şerife Şule; Türkmen, İbrahim; Uludağ Üniversitesi/Veteriner Fakültesi/Hayvan Besleme ve Beslenme Hastalıkları Anabilim Dalı.; 0000-0003-0708-3833; HJZ-4775-2023; B-1526-2018The objective of this experiment was to evaluate the effects of different levels of unprocessed rice bran with and without enzyme on performance and size of the digestive organs of broiler chickens. A total of 416 1-day-old male broiler chicks (Avian Farm) were randomly distributed into 8 treatment groups, each with 4 replicate groups containing 13 chicks. Rice bran with and without enzyme supplementation was used at 0, 10, 15 and 20% in the diets of broiler chicks. The inclusion of rice bran into the broiler diets significantly decreased body weights and body weight gains. Feed intake was significantly reduced by the increased level of rice bran in the broiler diets at the 21(st) day of the experiment. However, at the 42(nd) day of the experiment, broilers fed the 20% rice bran diet consumed significantly more feed than other groups. Feed conversion ratios were significantly altered as the level of rice bran increased. Also, the increasing levels of rice bran in broiler diets decreased hot carcass weights significantly. Hot carcass yield was significantly (P<0.05) less in broiler chickens given diet containing 20% of rice bran as compared to the other diets. In general, there was an increase in relative size of the digestive organs when rice bran was included in the diet. There were no significant effects of enzyme supplementation and interaction between diet and enzyme supplementation on performance and size of the digestive organs of broiler chickens.Item Effects of liquid Humate supplemented to drinking water on the performance and eggshell quality of hens in different laying periods(Ecole National Veterinaire Toulouse, 2008-02) Eren, Mustafa; Gezen, Şerife Şule; Deniz, Gülay; Orhan, Fatih; Uludağ Üniversitesi/Veteriner Fakültesi/Hayvan Besleme ve Beslenme Hastalıkları Anabilim Dalı.; 0000-0003-0708-3833; B-1526-2018; ISX-0239-2023; HJU-3305-2023; AAC-5057-2020; 9239300300; 9239300200; 56186472300; 12807777000The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of liquid humate (Farmagulator liquid(R)) supplemented to drinking water on performance (feed intake, feed conversion ratio, egg weight, egg production) and eggshell quality (shell strength and thickness, shell ash, cracked egg ratio) of hens in different laying periods. A total of 420 Lehmann Brown 26 week old hens were divided into two groups (control and liquid humate) and fed with standard layer diets. Liquid humate was supplemented to drinking water of treatment group at 0.25ml/l. Treatment group received liquid humate from 26(th) to 90(th) week of age. Data was collected at early (26(th)-42(nd) wk), middle (42(nd)-74(th) wk) and late (74(th)-90(th) wk periods of laying. Egg production improved (P<0.05) in liquid humate group in middle and late laying period, but did not improve in early and total laying period. Feed intake decreased (P<0.05) in early laying period while feed conversion ratio improved (P<0.05) in the middle laying period by supplementation of liquid humate. In liquid humate group, cracked egg ratio decreased (P<0.01) in all laying periods. Also, shell ash increased in middle (P<0.001), late (P<0.01) and total (P<0.001) laying periods, while shell thickness increased only in late laying period (P<0.05) by liquid humate supplementation. Shell strength, mortality and egg weight was not affected by liquid humate supplementation.Item Yumurta tavuğu yemlerine klinoptilolit katkısının yumurta verimi ve kalitesine etkisi(Uludağ Üniversitesi, 2004-02-23) Gezen, Ş.
