Item Assessment of Turkish adolescents' future orientations in their life scripts: A qualitative study(Elsevier, 2012) Uzunboylu, Hüseyin; Eldeleklioğlu, Jale; Uludağ Üniversitesi/Eğitim Fakültesi.; AAI-9092-2021The present study aims to investigate into Turkish adolescents' future orientations. In the study, both qualitative and quantitative research techniques were used. The research group is composed of a total of 70 eleventh grade students (47 girls, 23 boys) aged between 17-18 years old. The study data was collected through life scripts covering ten years written by volunteer students The students' scripts were analyzed by using the content analysis method. The categories prepared for the content analysis were formed based on the literature. The content categories used were specified as education, profession, relation with the opposite sex, and military service. The analysis of the data was made by using N-Vivo program. The results of the study indicate that although a great majority of adolescents would like to continue higher education, more than half of those do not have clear thoughts about their future professions, relationships with the opposite sex and military service.Item The effect of group counseling practices on trust building among counseling trainees: From the perspective of social network analysis(Elsevier Science, 2011) Akçamete, Gönül; Uzunboylu, Hüseyin; Oulmu, S.; Karahoca, A.; Babadoan, Cem; Özdamlı, Fezile; Kanbul, S.; Gültekin, Filiz; Erkan, Zeynep; Tüzüntürk, Selim; Uludağ Üniversitesi/Eğitim Fakültesi/Eğitim Bilimleri Bölümü.; 35339164200; 55128350100; 26430092800A sense of mutual trust among group members is one of the significant elements increasing the effectiveness of a group. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of group counseling practices on the trust patterns among undergraduate counseling trainees. Forty-five undergraduate counseling students at Uluda University in Bursa, Turkey, participated in this study. Participants were asked to rate a single item question on a five-point scale. This question was asked to participants before starting the group and after ending the group process. Students' trust patterns were analyzed by utilizing Social Network Analysis indicating the map of specified ties in the group. The study aims to determine the views of students enrolled in Uludag University with respect to their problems about accommodation and nutrition, adaptation and orientation, anxiety about future and unemployment, qualified education. For the purpose of the study, the data is to be collected with the help of a questionnaire and a personal information form prepared after having reviewed the related literature. The sample of the study is to include randomly selected 320 students studying -Uludag University during the 2011-2012 educational year. In the study, the students' points of view about problems are investigated according to the variables of faculty and gender. In line with the tindings obtained, the perspectives of students selected from both faculties with regard to problems they deal with during their university education are to be compared. The resulting data is to be analyzed by using the SPSS 13.0 program.Item A research on the retention of the experiments done in science and technology course for primary school students(Elsevier, 2012) Uzunboylu, Hüseyin; Çalış, Sevgül; Şimşekli, Yeter; Uludağ Üniversitesi/Eğitim Fakültesi.; AAG-8589-2021; AAG-8567-2021Learning by doing and experiencing, in other words, learning by doing experiments, is one of the principal methods in science and technology teaching. this is a qualitative study which was conducted to determine to what extent the 5th and 8th grade students benefit from science and technology laboratory practices and which scientitic topics and fields they are mostly related to. for this purpose, 367 5th grade students and 483 8th grade students, 850 in total, randomly selected from 9 schools were asked to write the name of an experiment they did in science and technology lesson and what they learned in this experiment, after evaluating the students' feedbacks, the number of students and the distribution of the most memorable experiments in terms of subjects and fields were investigated.
