Gaziantep şehrinde geçici koruma kapsamındaki Suriyelilerin mekânsal kümelenme eğilimleri ve etkileri, İnönü Caddesi örneği

Abstract

2011 yılında Suriye’de başlayan iç savaş küresel bir krize dönüşmüş ve en çok etkilenen ülkelerden birisi de Türkiye olmuştur. Bu kaostan kaçan 3,7 milyon Suriyeli Türkiye’ye sığınmış, kısa sürede birçok kent yoğun sığınmacı göçüne maruz kalmıştır. İstanbul’dan sonra en fazla sığınmacı ağırlayan Gaziantep’te her beş kişiden biri Suriyelidir. Bu insanların bir arada yaşama isteği mekânsal yoğunlaşmayı kaçınılmaz kılmıştır. Kentin eski ticaret merkezlerinden olan İnönü Caddesi bu yoğunlaşmanın en net görüldüğü yerdir. Bu çalışma, Gaziantep’te yaşayan Suriyelilerin mekânsal kümelenme eğilimlerini ve etkilerini İnönü Caddesi örneğinde tespit etmeyi amaçlamaktadır. Ayrıca geçici koruma kapsamındaki Suriyelilerin neden ve nasıl İnönü Caddesi’nde yoğunlaştıklarını, ne gibi mekânsal değişikliklere neden olduklarını, bu duruma yerel halkın ve Suriyelilerin bakış açısını ve bu değişimin sonuçlarını ortaya koymayı hedeflemektedir. Görüşme tekniği kullanılarak yapılan analizlerle mekânsal kümelenme modeli ve süreci belirlenip, göç kuramları ile açıklanmıştır.

The civil war started in Syria in 2011 turned into a global crisis and Turkey was the most affected country. 3,7 million Syrians who escaped from this chaos took refuge in Turkey, and many cities were exposed to intense refugee migration in a short time. One of every five people in Gaziantep, which hosts the highest number of refugees after Istanbul, is a Syrian. The desire of this refugee population to live together has made spatial concentration inevitable. İnönü Street, one of the old commercial centers of the city, is the place where this concentration is most clearly seen. This study aims to determine the spatial clustering tendencies and effects of Syrians living in Gaziantep in the example of İnönü Street. It aims to reveal why and how Syrians under temporary protection concentrate on İnönü Street, what kind of spatial changes they cause, the perspective of local people and Syrians on this situation and the results of this change. The spatial clustering model and process were determined by the analysis made using the interview technique and explained with migration theories.
