Lewis Carroll'ın “Alice Harikalar Diyarında” eserinin P4C çalışmaları bağlamında kullanım olanağının değerlendirilmesi

Abstract

Felsefe, çağlar boyunca insanın kendisine ve diğer varolanlara ilişkin sahip olduğu sonsuz merak duygusunun sonucu olarak sistemli bir düşünme biçimini ifade etmiştir. İlk Çağ'dan 20. yüzyıla değin filozoflar sürdürdükleri akıl yürütmelerle bir paradigma meydana getirmiş, bu paradigma çağların değişen koşulları ile sanat ve teknikteki ilerlemelerle sürekli büyümüştür. 20. yüzyıla gelindiğinde birçok yeni kavram felsefi zeminde kendine yer edinmiştir. Bu bağlamda çocuk felsefesi veya çocuklar için felsefe (P4C) de 20. yüzyılla kendine yeni bir felsefi zemin kazanan alanlardan biridir. Çocuklar için felsefenin kuramsallaşmasında Mathew Lipman bir öncü rolünü üstlenmiş ve P4C çalışmalarında belirli bir metot geliştirmiştir. Lipman'ın P4C çalışmaları için geliştirdiği metot çoğunlukla çocuk edebiyatı ürünlerinin kullanımını gerektirir. Bu durumda birçok çocuk edebiyatı ürününün P4C çalışmaları açısından verimli olup olamayacağı önemli bir problem hâlini almıştır. Bu problemden yola çıkılarak bu çalışmada felsefe ve çocuk veya çocukluk kavramları arasında bir ilişki kurulmasının olanaklılığı tartışılmış, bu anlamda çocuklar için felsefe çalışmalarının metoduna değinilmiş ve Lewis Carroll'ın “Alice Harikalar Diyarında (Alice's Adventures in Wonderland)” adlı eserinin P4C çalışmalarında kullanım olanağı üzerinden bir tartışma yürütülmüştür.

Philosophy has expressed a systematic way of thinking as a result of the endless curiosity that people have about themselves and other beings throughout the ages. From the Antiquity to the 20th century, philosophers have created a paradigm with their reasoning, and this paradigm has grown continuously with the changing conditions of the ages and advances in art and technique. By the 20th century, many new concepts have taken their place on the philosophical ground. In this context, philosophy of children or philosophy for children (P4C) is one of the fields that gained a new philosophical ground with the 20th century. Mathew Lipman took a pioneering role in theorizing philosophy for children and developed a specific method for P4C studies. The method developed by Lipman for P4C studies mostly requires the use of children's literature products. In this case, it has become an important problem whether many children's literature products can be productive in terms of P4C studies. Based on this problem, in this study, the possibility of establishing a relationship between the concepts of philosophy and child or childhood was discussed, in this sense, the method of philosophical studies for children was mentioned and the possibility of using Lewis Carroll's "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" in P4C studies.
