Abstract
Üstün özelliklere sahip silisyum karbür (SiC) ve titanyum karbürün (TiC) daha iyi özelliklere sahip olması için bir araya getirilerek üretilmesi bu çalışmanın amacını oluşturmaktadır. Bu amaçla, SiC-TiC karışım tozunun tek aşamada dinamik bir termokimyasal yöntem ile sentezlenebilmesi için bazı işlem parametreleri incelenmiştir. Başlangıç hammaddesi olarak silisyum oksit (SiO₂), titanyum oksit (TiO₂) ve karbon (C) kullanılarak farklı reçeteler ve üretim sıcaklıkları (1400, 1450 ve 1500°C) denenmiştir. Deneysel çalışmalara başlamadan önce üretimi planlanan farklı reçeteler termodinamik bir yazılım olan FactSage programı ile incelenmiştir. Bu programa göre belirlenen reçeteler için hammadde karışımları, C/SiO₂/TiO₂ oranları 6:1:1 ve 9:2:1 olarak iki farklı reçetede hazırlanmıştır. Tozlar homojen karıştırılmasından sonra granüle edilmişlerdir. Hazırlanan granüller dinamik termokimyasal işlemlere tabi tutulmuşlar ve XRD, SEM ve EDS analizleri ile karakterize edilmişlerdir. Dolayısıyla SiC-TiC karışım tozu üretiminde optimum sonuç için üretim parametreleri 1450°C’de 1 saat Ar atmosferinde 4 dv/dk dönme hızı olarak belirlenmiştir.
The aim of this study is to produce silicon carbide (SiC) and titanium carbide (TiC) with superior properties by combining them to have better properties. For this purpose, some process parameters wereinvestigated in order to synthesis SiC-TiC mixture powder with a dynamic thermochemical method in onestep. Different recipes and production temperatures (1400, 1450 and 1500°C) were tried by using silicon oxide (SiO₂), titanium oxide (TiO₂) and carbon (C) as starting raw materials. Before starting the experimental studies, different recipes planned to be produced were examined with the FactSage program,which is a thermodynamic software. Raw material mixtures for the recipes determined according to this program were prepared in two different recipes with C/SiO₂/TiO₂ ratios of 6:1:1 and 9:2:1. The powder swere granulated after homogeneous mixing. The prepared granules were subjected to dynamicthermochemical treatments and characterized by XRD, SEM and EDS analyses. Therefore, for the optimumresult in the production of SiC-TiC mixed powder, the production parameters were determined as 4 rpm rotational speed in Ar atmosphere for 1 hour at 1450°C.
