Abstract
Bu çalışma, 1915 yılında Karesi vilayetinde resmî gazete olarak yayımlanan Karesi gazetesindeki o yıl içerisinde geçen tüm haberler taranarak dönemin eğitim hayatına dair bilgi edinmeyi amaçlamaktadır. Bunun için 28 Aralık 1914 ile 3 Ocak 1916 tarihleri arasında çıkan tüm nüshalar (51 sayı) incelenmiş ve eğitime dair 296 haber tespit edilmiştir. Bu haberler incelemeye tabi tutulmuş ve ana hatlarıyla Eğitim Kurumları, Eğitim İçeriği ve Metodolojisi, Personel İşlemleri, İdari ve Mali İşler, Yaygın Din Eğitimi, Edebiyat ve Müteferrik şeklinde yedi ana kategori belirlenmiş ve bu başlıkları kapsayan haberler ayrı ayrı değerlendirmeye tabi tutulmuştur. Haber içeriklerinden söz konusu tarihlerde Balıkesir’de eğitime dair hummalı bir çalışmanın yapıldığı anlaşılmaktadır. Ayrıca I. Dünya Savaşı’nın bilfiil devam ettiği tarihlere denk gelmesine rağmen eğitim faaliyetlerinin aksamadan yürütüldüğü, tayin, terfi ve atamaların aksatılmadan yerine getirildiği, yoğun bir şekilde mektep inşa faaliyetlerinin devam ettiği ve yeni mekteplerin faaliyete başlatıldığı görülmektedir.
This study aims to obtain information about the educational life of the period by scanning all the news in the Karesi newspaper, which was published as the official newspaper in the Karesi province in 1915, during that year. For this purpose, all copies (51 issues) published between 28 December 1914 and 3 January 1916 were examined and 296 news about education were identified. This news was examined and seven main categories were determined as Educational Institutions, Educational Content and Methodology, Personnel Transactions, Administrative and Financial Affairs, Religious Education, Literature and Miscellaneous, and the news covering these headings were evaluated separately. It is understood from the news content that a feverish study was carried out regarding education in Balıkesir on the dates in question. In addition, despite the fact that World War I was still ongoing, it is seen that educational activities were carried out without interruption, appointments, promotions and assignments were carried out without interruption, school construction activities continued intensively and new schools were started to operate.
