Sürdürülebilirlik kültürü ve sivil toplum kuruluşları: İstanbul’da çevre konusunda faaliyet gösteren dernekler

Abstract

Toplumsal yapının tüm unsurlarını etkileyen kaynakları etkin, verimli ve gelecek nesillere aktarılabilir şekilde kullanılmasını ifade eden sürdürülebilirlik, insan-doğa ilişkisi dengesinin bozulmasıyla farklı açılardan tartışılan bir kavram olmaya başlamıştır. Bu çalışmada ise, sürdürülebilirlik kültürü ve bunun inşasında sivil toplum kuruluşlarının rolünü ortaya koymak amaçlanmıştır. Bu çerçevede Sivil Toplumla İlişkiler Genel Müdürlüğü bünyesinde kayıtlı olan çevre dernekleri araştırmanın örneklemi olarak ele alınmıştır. Web sitesi bulunan derneklerin amaçları Birleşmiş Milletler Sürdürülebilir Kalkınma Hedefleri (17 SKH) doğrultusunda değerlendirilmiştir. Bu derneklerin Sürdürülebilir Kalkınma Hedeflerinden yeterince istifade etmediği içerik analizi ile ortaya konulmuştur. Derneklerin amaçları doğrultusunda en çok ortaya çıkan sürdürülebilir Kalkınma Hedefi “13-İklim Eylemi”dir. Elde edilen veriler ışığında bu çalışmada derneklere ve yapılacak yeni araştırmalara öneriler sunulmuştur.

Sustainability, which expresses the effective, efficient and transferable use of resources that affectall elements of the social structure, has started to be a concept discussed from different perspectives with the deterioration of the human-nature relationship balance. In this study, it is aimed to revealthe sustainability culture and the role of non-governmental organizations in its construction. In this context, environmental associations registered under the General Directorate of Civil Society Relations were taken as the sample of the research. The aims of the associations whose websites areaccessible have been evaluated in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (17SDGs). It has been revealed by content analysis that these associations do not sufficiently benefitfrom the Sustainable Development Goals. SDG 13-Climate Action is the most emerging in line withthe objectives of the associations. In line with the data obtained, suggestions were presented to the associations and new researches to be done in this study.
