Ethinyl estradiol ve desogestrelin sıçan adrenal bezleri üzerine histopatolojik etkileri

Abstract

Bu çalışmada ethinyl estradiol (EE) ve desogestrel içeren bir oral kontraseptif (OC)'m sıçan adrenal bezleri üzerindeki etkileri incelendi. Yüksek dozda 5-30 gün ve hafif dozda 5-70 gün süreyle OC verilen sıçanlarda, adrenal bez ağırlıkları ile OC dozları arasında bir ilişki bulundu. Korteks ve medullanın boyutları açısından kontrol ve deney grupları arasında anlamlı bir farklılık bulunamadı, fakat yüksek doz deney gruplarında korteks ve medullada belirgin vasküler dilatasyonlar saptandı. Bu nedenle yüksek doz deney gruplarında adrenal bezlerde gözlenen ağırlık artışının, artan kan akımıyla ilişkili olabileceği düşünüldü. Ayrıca deney gruplarında Z. reticularis hücrelerinde yağ dejenerasyonu gözlendi. Işık mikroskobik düzeyde yapılan bu çalışmadan elde edilen verilerden ''yüksek doz deney gruplarında adrenal bezlerin OC'den etkilendiği, fakat hafif doz deney gruplarında belirgin bir etkinin görülmediği" sonucuna varılmıştır.

Effects of an oral contraceptive (OC) containing ethinyl estradiol (EE) + desogestrel on adrenal glands of the rat was examined. lt was found a relationship between the weights of the glands and dosages of OC in the rats which had been administered OC as heigh doses for 5-30 days and low doses for 5-70 days. No significant differences were found between the control and treatment groups for dimensions of cortex and medulla, but it was determined vascular dilations of cortex and medulla in heigh dose treatment groups. Therefore it was thought that it may be a relation between increasing blood flow and the weights of adrenal gland in heigh dose treatment groups. Lipid vacuoles in the cells of Z. reticularis was seen in the heigh dose treatment groups. The data derived from the results of this light microscopic study showed us that adrenal glands were affected from OC in heigh dose treatment groups, but affection in low dose treatment groups were not significant.
