Abstract
This study was carried out to determine the pyralid species and infestation levels of important species in Bursa Siyahı fig orchards at 4 sites in Gündoğdu, Çağlayan and Ovaakça villages belonging to the town of Osmangazi located in district of Bursa during the years 2000 -2002. A total of 35 caprifig was picked up randomly from each fig orchard and the numbers of larvae and pupae were recorded in the laboratory at various times in the season. In addition, fruits remained on the trees and abscised fruits were examined. Also, Pherocon II type traps containing IMM+4 and ALM pheromone lures were placed in orchards in Gündoğdu and Ovaakça villages and species caught in traps were identified. Consequently, carob moth, Ectomyelois ceratoniae Zeller, was the most common and widespread species and currant moth, Cadra calidella Gn, and raisin moth, Cadra figulilella Greg., were species of secondary importance. In addition, caprifig remained on fig trees played an important role in sheltering pyralid species which enables the development and successive generations of E. ceratoniae in fig orchards.
