Boethius’ta Tanrı’nın bilgisi ve insan hürriyeti

Abstract

Tanrı’nın bilgisi ve insan hürriyeti, ilâhî sıfatlar ve onların evrendeki korrelatları konusuyla ilgilenen filozofların sıkça karşılaştığı problemlerden biri olmuştur. Bu problemi çözmek için yoğun çaba harcayan filozoflardan bazıları, Tanrı’nın mutlak bilgisi yanında insan hürriyetinden söz edilemeyeceği sonucuna ulaşırken, bazıları da, Tanrı’nın sonsuz ve kusursuz bilgisi ile insan hürriyeti arasında kabul edilebilir bir uzlaştırma yapılabileceğini göstermek için, çeşitli izah denemeleri geliştirmiştir. Sözünü ettiğimiz denemelerden biri de ilk Hristiyan filozoflarından Manlius Boethius’a (480-524) aittir. Boethius, Tanrı’nın bilgisi ile insan hürriyeti arasında bir çatışma olmadığına ve bunun rasyonel kalıplar içinde temellendirilebileceğine inanıyordu. Bu makale, Boethius’un ilâhî bilgi ve insan hürriyeti problemini çözmek için ortaya koyduğu, etkileri günümüze kadar gelmiş olan görüşlerini ele almayı amaçlamaktadır.

The question of ‘Divine Omniscience and human freedom’ has been one of the problems which were engaged by philosophers interested in divine attributes and their correlates in universe. In trying to solve this problem, while some philosophers said that there can not be any freedom for human beings beside the absolute knowledge of God, others introduced various explanations to demonstrate that it is possible to make a rational reconciliation between God’s endless-faultless knowledge and human freedom. One of these explanations belongs to Manlius Boethius, an early christian philosopher. Boethius believed both that there is not any conflict between God’s knowledge and human freedom and that it is easy to support this fact with rational arguments. So, this article aims to investigate Boethius views introduced to solve the problem of divine omniscience and human freedom.
