Abstract
Korozif maddelerin kazara yutulması çocuklukta sık görülür ve ülkemizde halen ciddi bir halk sağlığı problemidir. Vakaların çoğu, korozif maddelerin etiketsiz kaplardan yanlışlıkla içilmesi sonucu gerçekleşmektedir. Bu olguda, halk arasında sirke ruhu olarak bilinen ve turşu hazırlamak için kullanılan maddenin yutulması nedeniyle özofagus ve mide hasarı gelişen beş yaşında bir erkek çocuk sunulmakta ve ebeveynlerin turşu yapımında kullanımı nedeniyle tehlikeli görmediği bir ürün olan sirke ruhuna dikkat çekilmesi hedeflenmektedir.
Accidental ingestion of corrosive materials is very common in childhood and a serious public health problem in our country. Most cases are happening as a result of accidental ingestion of corrosive materials from unlabeled containers In this report, a 5-year-old boy is presented with esophageal and gastric burn due to the ingestion of a substance used to prepare pickles that known as spirit vinegar among the people. So, it is aimed to draw attention about spirit vinegar which is a product that parents do not see as dangerous due to its use in making pickle.
