Yüksek öğretimde ideal öğretim elemanı nasıl olmalıdır?

Abstract

Bu çalışmada, üniversitelerde yürütülen eğitim ve öğretimin bir çok unsuru arasında yer alan öğretici ve öğrenci unsurlarından biri olan öğretici durumundaki öğretim elemanın, ideal bir öğretim elemanı olabilmesi için hangi niteliklere sahip olması gerektiği üzerinde durulacaktır. Bilindiği üzere öğretim elemanı yüksek öğretimin vazgeçilmezlerinden biridir. Yüksek öğretimin nitelikli elemanlar yetiştirmesinin, nitelikli öğretim elemanlarına sahip olmasıyla mümkün olacağı şüphesizdir. İlk, orta ve lise eğitim ve öğretimlerinde, eğitim ve öğretimin temel unsurları olan öğretmen ve öğrenci arasındaki ilişkilerin nasıl olması gerektiğiyle ilgili birçok çalışma yapılmasına rağmen, ne yazık ki, yüksek öğretimde aynı konunun çok az işlendiği görülmektedir. Bu nedenle yüksek öğretimde eğitim ve öğretimin iki önemli unsurundan biri olan öğretim elemanının hangi nitelikleri taşırsa, öğrencileri üzerinde kendisiyle ilgili olarak etkiler uyandırabileceği ve onların nitelikli birer insan ve vatandaş olmalarına katkılar sağlayabileceği önem arz ettiğinden, bahsi geçen konuda tecrübeye dayalı bilgiler verme gereği doğmuştur. Çalışmada sözü edilecek nitelikler, bir öğretim elemanı tarafından dikkate alınarak gereği yerine getirilirse, yüksek eğitim ve öğretiminin ana hedefi olan örnek insanın topluma kazandırılacağı düşünülmektedir.

This study discusses the qualities of an instructor with the status of mentorship who is part of the educational system of the universities and who is one of the elements of the instructor in order to be an ideal instructor. As it is known, the instructor is the indispensible one in higher education. It is undeniable that it is necessary for the higher education to have qualified instructors in order to educate qualified personnel. Although in the primary, secondary and high school education, there are many studies about how the relation between the teacher and student, who are the essential elements of education, should be, unfortunately, it is observed that the same topic is rarely studied in higher education. For this reason, as the qualities that the instructor carries influences the students on being a qualified person and citizen for he/ she is one of the two important elements of higher education it is regarded as necessary to give experiential information on the given subject. It is thought that if the qualities discussed in this study are carefully implemented by the instructor the role model which is the main aim of the higher education will be produced and blended within the society.
