İnsanın, insan olmak bakımından işlevi nedir?: Aristotelesçi bir bakış

Abstract

Aristoteles’in Nikomakhos’a Etik ve Eudemos’a Etik adlı eserlerinde insanın işlevine (ergon) ilişkin gerçekleştirdiği soruşturmayı inceleyen bu çalışmanın amacı, insan için ideal olan yaşam biçiminin aydınlatılmasında rol alan kavramlara yönelik bir analiz gerçekleştirmektir. İnsanın işlevi sorunu, kuşkusuz Aristoteles’in etiği içinden tek başına soyutlanabilecek bir konu değildir. Bu bağlamda işlev konusunun ortaya konulması amacıyla, Aristoteles’in sistemi içinde önemli yeri olan başkaca kavramlar netleştirilmeye çalışılmıştır. Metin içinde Nikomakhos’a Etik ve Eudemos’a Etik eserlerine N.E ve E.E şeklinde kısaltılarak gönderimde bulunulmuştur.

The aim of this work which examines the investigation regarding the function (ergon) of human in Aristotle’s works The Nicomachean Ethics and The Eudemian Ethics is to make an analysis about the concepts which play role in illuminating the ideal way of life for human. The function of human is certainly not a matter that can be abstracted from Aristotle’s ethics alone. In this context, to present the issue of function, it is intended to clarify the other main concepts in Aristotle’s system. In this text, the works The Nicomachean Ethics and The Eudemian Ethics are referred as the abbreviations N.E and E.E.
