Abstract
Because of Turkish being a language of suffixes these are used while creating or formulating words. There are no prefixes in Turkish. We have some cases in the Turkish language where there are sound upstarts because of doubling or strengthening words. But in these examples we have to talk about an abstarting pre sound other than a prefix. Turkish has been under influence since its history. At first, words were taken from Arabic and Persian, and later from languages like English and French. Among these words there are also prefixes which have started the use in the Turkish language. In order to find an equivalent for foreign words compound words have been used to replace the meaning. These compound words, have been perceived as prefixes, and this has aroused the question of prefixes in the Turkish language. Its not to forget that prefixes add a meaning to the word they are connected to, they can not be used as independent words. Whereas in Turkish the words that seem like prefixes are independent words. Prefixes are seen only in foreign languages which are adopted to Turkish.
