Abstract
In this study, 60 Merino lambs (male) divided into 5 groups were used as a material. First four groups were fed with whole, ground, pelleted and granule concentrate feed, respectively. Each group was given dry alfalfa hay at 100 g/day/head level, but last group was only feed with whole concentrate feed. On the 28th and 56th days of the study, blood samples of seven animals randomly selected from each group were analysed for sedimentation rates (ESR), hernatoerit (PCV), hemoglobin (Hb), red blood cell (RBC), white blood cell (WBC) and differential leukocyte counts. On the 28th days of the study, PCV values of group III and IV (34.14 and 34.42 %) were higher than that of group I (30. 71 %), WBC values of group ll (6.91 x 1rY/mm3) were higher than that of group III (4.35 x 103/mm3) , monocyte counts of group I and III (5.57 and 5.85 %) were higher than that of group V (2.85 %) (P < 0.05). On the 56 th days of the study. Hb values of group I and IV {10.00- 10.25 g/100 ml) were higher than that of group lll (8.86 g/ 1 00 ml) (P < 0.05). No statistically important difference was observed in other blood parameters and live weight gain of Merino lambs.
