Hakimiyet-i Milliye sayfalarından işgal altındaki Antep

Abstract

15 Ocak 1919’da İngilizler tarafından işgal edildikten sonra 5 Kasım 1919’da Fransız işgaline terk edilen Antep’in işgal süreci 9 Şubat 1921’e kadar sürmüştür. Antep’e “Gazi” ünvanı verilmesine vesile olan büyük bir direnişin yaşandığı bu süreç türkü, şiir, makale gibi sanat ve düşünce eserlerine de yansımıştır. Bu çalışmada Ankara Hükümeti’nin resmi gazetesi olan Hakimiyet-i Milliye gazetesinde işgal altındaki Antep ile ilgili yayımlanan yazılar değerlendirilecektir. Bu yazılar içinde en çarpıcı olan, Antep’e “Gazi” unvanı verilmesi münasebetiyle Türkçülük mefkûresine gönülden bağlı bir yazar olan Müfide Ferit Tek’in 7 Şubat 1921 tarihinde yayımlanan “Gazi Antep” adlı yazısıdır.

The occupation process of Antep, occupied by the English on the 15th January 1919 and then left under the occupation by the French on the 5th November 1919, continued until the 9th February 1921. This process, during which a great resistance was lived and upon this Antep was given the title ‘gazi’ (meaning veteran), was reflected in the works of art and thought, such as folksongs, poems, and articles, as well. In this study, the writings on Antep under occupation published in Hakimiyet-i Milliye newspaper, an official newspaper of the Ankara government, will be taken under discussion. The most remarkable of these is the writing entitled ‘Gazi Antep’, penned upon Antep’s being given the title ‘Gazi’ by Müfide Ferit Tek, committed most willingly to the thought of Turkism, and published on the 7th February 1921.
