Abstract
Vertebral hemanjiomlar (VH), otopsi serilerinde % 11 sıklıkla rastlanılan, vertebral kolonun benign vasküler tümörleridir. Nadiren spinal kordu komprese ederek semptomatik olurlar.
Vertebral hemangiomas are benign vascular tumors that have been demonstrated in 11 % of spines at autopsy, and despite their common occurrence and usual benign course, they occasionally produce spinal cord compression. It's difficult to differentiate asymptomatic lesions from compressive ones radiologically, although tlıeir plain radiographic features are well known and characteristic. New imaging techniques, CT scanning and selective spinal arteriography are helpful in combination with plain radiography especially differentiation from other bone lesions and for planning treatment. Additionally, some radiologic criterias are established by which silent and compressive VHS may be distinguished. In our study, 11 asymptomatic and one compressive VH cases are analysed to compare for distinct radiologic criteria by wlıich to distinguish clinically silent VH's from those responsible for compression of the spinal cord.
