Abstract

Yöntemleri ve ölçüleri belirlenememiş ve belirsizliklerle dolu olan çeviri, eleştiri alanına girmeden önce 'Çeviri ve Eleştiri Nedir?' sorusuna cevap bulmaya çalışacağız. Çeviri, bir dildeki anlamın başka bir dilde yeniden kurulmasını sağlayan aktarma işlemidir. Çeviri R. Jakobson'a göre 'yeniden kodlama yorumu'dur (Recoding Interpretation). G. Toury'ye göre çeviri 'bir çeviri ediminin ürünü olup, kaynak dilde şifrelenen bir metnin yerini, amaç dilde şifrelenen bir metnin almasıdır. Çeviri şiirdir, şiirin dilidir, şiirin şiiridir.

Translation criticism, correction of the translation, enhancing the consciousness of the translator and the reader enables the horizons of the views on language and other subjects to widen. New views and models canceming the translation criticism may emerge from the researches made by the critics. A eritic must decide if the content of the text, the style of the translation and the message are in tune or not. He must also find out whether the translation has been done obeying the rules of the goal language. A translation eritic compares the translation with the original text after analysing all the factors in the original text in detail. He considers the words, word order, sernantic properties and the other translation unis and investigates if the texts full of linguistic operations have equivalents in the goal language. He makes use of the foreword and the expla natory notes of the translator, a lot.
