Abstract
The objective of this study was to compare effects of roxarsone combined with meticlorpindol suplemented into the broiler feeds, with effects of meticlorpindol on weight gain, feed conversion and carcass dressing percentage. In the experiment, a total of 210 one day old male Avian Farms broiler chicks were used, and they were assigned in 3 groups as one Group 1, Group 2 and Group 3. Also each treatment group was divided into 5 replicate groups each containing the equal number of chicks. The experiment lasted 39 days. During the first three weeks, all groups were fed on the broiler starter feeds prepared as isocaloric and isonitrogenic, and for the next weeks they were given broiler grower feeds, ad libitum. Feeds prepared for the 1" (MET) and 2nd (ROK), 3rd (MET+ROK) groups were supplemented with 125 mg/kg meticlorpindol, 45.4 mg/kg 3-nitro-4 hydroxyphenylarsonic acid (roxarsone) and 45.4 mg/kg 3-nitro-4 hydroxyphenylarsonic acid + 125 mg kg meticlorpindol respectively, In the 14th days, body weight gain of the ROK group was found much higher than MET+ROK group (P<0.05). Feed conversion ratio of the ROK group was better than the others in the 14th days (P<0.05). At the end of the trial, differences between body weight gain, feed conversion ratio, feed consumption value and carcass dressing percentage of the groups were not found valuable statistically.
