Abstract
Doğal olarak denizlerde ve nehirlerin denizlere açıldığı yerlerdeki çevresel mateiyaJierde yerleşen , gram negatif, halofilik bir mikroorganizma olan Vibrio parahaemolyticus, gastroenteritis (en yaygın sendrom), yara enfeksionları ve septisemi olmak üzere 3 büyük klinik hastalık sendromuna neden olmaktadır. V. parahaemolyticus enfekiyonları genellikle, çiğ kabukluları, özellikle istiridyeleri yiyen veya derilerindeki yaraları ılıkdeniz suyuna maruz kalan kişilerde oluşur. V. parahaemolyticus, ilk kez 1950 yılında, Japonya'da gıda kaynaklı bir enfeksiyon nedeni olarak tanımlanmıştır. O zamandan bu yana, V. parahaemolyticus Japonya'da ve tüm Asya'da gıda kaynaklı bir enfeksiyon nedeni olarak bilinmektedir. Son on yıl içinde, Birleşik Amerika'da V. parahaemolyticus en ık gastroenteritise neden olan ve insanlardan en çok izole edilen Vibrio türlerindendir. Bu mikroorganizma, Japonya'da ve deniz ürünlerinin tüketildiği dünya ülkelerinde yalnızca gıda kökenli zehirlenmelerin nedeni olarak değil; aynı zamanda bir sağlık riski olarak kabul edilmektedir.
Vibrio parahaemolyticus is a gram-negative, halophilic bacterium that naturally inhabits marine and esruarine environments and caused 3 major syndromes of elinical illness- gastroenteritis (the most common syndrome), wound infections and septicemia. V.parahaemolyticus infections are usually acquired by persons who eat raw shellfish, particularly oysters, or whose skin wounds are exposed to warm seawater. V.parahaemolyticus was first identified as a cause of foodbome illness in Japan in 1950. · Since then, V. parahaemolyticus has been recognized asa common cause offoodbome illness in Japan and throughout Asia. During the past ten years in United States, V.parahaemolyticus has been the most common Vibrio species isolated from hurnans, as well as the most frequent cause of Vibrio- associated gastroenteritis. The organism has been recognized not only as the principal cause of foodbome outbreaks in Japan but also as a health hazard in seafoods consumed throughout the wor
