Abstract
One of the ways thought to have the greatest impact on the sufi life of Anatolia, the Naqshbandī and the founder of Mawlawīsm, Mawlānā’s masterpiece named Mathnawī, has been brought together on common ground with this study. It is known that ʿAbdallāh Ilāhī, who brought Naqshism to Anatolia in the 15th century, and his caliphs Emîr (Amīr) Bukhārī and Âbid (ʿĀbid) Çelebi were initially interested in Mathnawī. In the same century, this interest brought literary rapprochement with the poet Surūrī. This relationship continued uninterrupted in the following centuries and has survived to the present day. In this article, it was aimed to examine the relationship of the Naqshbandī, who were especially poets, with the Mathnawī; Naqshbandī authors who do not have poetry and Naqshbandī persons who do not have poetry are not included in the content. In the study, first of all, the place and importance of Mathnawī in our cultural and scientific life, and the interest in Mathnawī and Mathnawīhanism are mentioned. Then, it is stated why the Naqshism became close to the Mathnawī. And brief information is given about the life of 12 Naqshi poets whose relations with Mathnawī were determined. In the last part, the importance of Persian in the relationship between Naqshi poets and Mathnawī has been emphasized. Finally, determinations about the relationship between Naqshi poets and Mathnawi are presented. In addition, this article is thought to be a source and an example for the relations between sects, which is one of the subjects of Sufi history studies.
