Abstract
Toplumsal bir varlık olan insanın var olduğu günden bugüne değin temel ihtiyaçlarından biri olarak iletişim, çeşitli şekillerde kurulmaya çalışılmış, bunun sonucunda da bireyselden kitleselliğe uzanan iletişim biçimleri ortaya çıkmıştır. Özellikle on dokuzuncu yüzyılda kitlesel nitelik kazanan iletişim, yeni teknolojiler ile her geçen gün mesafe, zaman veya mekân gibi kavramları tabiri caizse askıya almıştır. Bu sanal mekânlardan biri olan sosyal medya da insanların hem iletişim kurma biçimleri hem de günlük yaşamları üzerinde etkili olmaktadır. Bu çalışma, insanların sıklıkla bu ortamlarda gündemi takip etmek için veya günlük hayatlarına ilişkin yaptıkları paylaşımlarla bireysel varoluşlarını nasıl ortaya koymaya çalıştıkları amacına yönelik olarak planlanmıştır. Çalışmanın sınırlılığı yanı sıra farkındalık düzeyinin daha fazla olacağı düşüncesiyle iletişim fakültesi yüksek lisans öğrencileri evreninden Atatürk Üniversitesi İletişim Fakültesi Radyo, Tv ve Sinema Anabilim dalı öğrencileri amaçlı örneklem dâhilinde tercih edilmiştir. Katılımcılardan mülakat yöntemiyle elde edilen veriler, nitel içerik çözümleme yöntemi ile Varoluş felsefesinde öne çıkan kavramlar ışığında kategorize edilerek incelenmeye çalışılmıştır. Medyanın yaygın kullanımı ve insanların medya vasıtasıyla görünür olma arzusuna ilişkin olarak, medyatik varoluş biçimlerini sorgulamaya yönelik olan bu araştırma sonucunda, eğitimle doğru orantılı şekilde belli bir bilinç düzeyinin yakalandığı görülmüştür. Ancak buna rağmen kitle içerisindeki bireyin medya platformlarında varlık gösterirken farkında olmadan ya da zorunlu olarak medya mantığına boyun eğmesi de söz konusudur. Bu doğrultuda medya okuryazarlığının, özelde bireyde genelde toplumda belli bir bilinç düzeyinin yakalanarak farkındalık oluşturma adına hayatın her kademesinde gerekli bir eğitim olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.
Communication as one of the basic needs of human beings, who is a social creature, has been tried to be established in various ways since its existence, and as a result, forms of communication ranging from individual to mass have emerged. Especially in the nineteenth century, communication, which gained mass quality, so to speak, suspended concepts such as distance, time, or space with each passing day, with new technologies. Social media, which is one of these virtual spaces, impacts both the way people communicate and their daily lives. This study has been planned for the purpose of how people often try to follow the agenda in these environments or how they try to reveal their individual existence with the sharings they make about their daily lives. In addition to the limitation of the study, with the thought that the level of awareness would be higher, the students of the Atatürk University Communication Faculty Radio, TV, and Cinema Department were preferred within the purposive sampling from the communication faculty graduate students. The data obtained from the participants by the interview method were tried to be analyzed by categorizing them under the major concepts in the philosophy of existence with the qualitative content analysis method. As a result of this research, which aims to question the mediatic existence forms regarding the widespread use of the media and the desire of people to be visible through the media, it has been seen that a certain level of consciousness has been achieved in direct proportion to education. However, despite this, it is also possible for the individual in the mass to submit to the logic of the media unwittingly or necessarily while presenting on the media platforms. In this direction, it has been concluded that media literacy is a necessary education at every stage of life to create awareness by catching a certain level of understanding in society in general, especially in the individual.
