Abstract
The purpose of this experiment was to investigate the effects of dicalcium phosphate produced in Turkey by Topkim on the weight gain and feed consumption of broyler chickens. In this experiment 6 groups were made and the first group having no dicalcium phosphate (DCP) was used asa control group. Phosphor requirements of this group were obtained from the bone meal and the other animal sources feed. 1 % bone meal and 1 % DCP was added to the 2. groups. In the 3. groups only fish meal and 2 % DCP without bone meal were used. In the 4., 5. and 6. Groups animal protein sources were not used but most of the protein requirements were provided from soyabeen meal sunflower meal and com gluten meal phosphor requirements in these groups were also provided from 2.4 % bone meal added to the 1. group, 1 % bone meal and 1% DCP added to the 2. groups; 2 % DCP added to the 3. groups. During eight weeks investigation, average total weights of the chickens according to the groups were found as 1973.5; 1864.0 ; 1785.0; 1926.5; 1937.0 and 1771.5 g. Total feed consumptions of these groups were recorded as 4750; 4610; 4315; 4500; 4168 and 4549 g, respectively. According to these results, feed consumptions per 1 kg. weight gain were calculated as 2.38; 2.44; 2.51 ; 2.4 1; 2.47 and 2.56 kg. According to the results o f weight gain, feed consumption and feed efficiencies, in each gruops and especially in the plant so urces feed, the combination of 1 % bone meal and 1 % DCP gave some possible results. But the growth rate decreaced when 2% dicalcium phosphate was added to the rations.
