Abstract
In this study, we have investigated the effects of Glycerol and corticosteroids on the oedema of patients with acute cerebral infarction using the clinical investigation and SEP studies as parameters. At the beginning, SEP has been applied to all of tlıe 20 cases in our study group, later followed by glycerol treatment to 10 patients and steroid treatment to the other 10 and at the end of the results were controlled by SEP application. As a result we elinicalIy found that the average recovery rate for the glycerol group was 15.94 % and for the steroid group was 19.98 % ; with the SEP study it has been found that in both groups the components of the SEP were getting better as parallel to the clinical recovery.
