Abstract
Bu araştırma. farklı mevsimlerde besiye başlamanın Polonya Hoştayn erkek danaların besi performansına etkisini incelemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. 20 baş erkek dana, 10'ar başlık iki mevsim grubuna ayrılmıştır. Hayvanlar besiye, araştırmanın birinci grubunda Aralık ayı başında, ikinci grubunda ise Haziran ayı başında alınmıştır. Besi süresi her iki grupta da 180 gün sürmüştür. Besi süresince ortalama günlük canlı ağırlık kazancı ve 1 kg canlı ağırlık kazancı için tüketilen yem kuru madde miktarı sırasıyla, kış mevsim grubunda l.I70 kg ve 8.24 kg, yaz mevsim grubunda ise I.l 67 kg ve 9.I3 kg bulunmuştur. Besi özellikleri bakımından iki mevsim grubu arasındaki farklılıklar, 90-180 gün besi dönemindeki 1 kg canlı ağırlık kazancı için tüketilen kesif yem miktarı hariç istatistiki önemde bulunmamıştır. Araştırma tümüyle değerlendirildiğinde, Güney Marmara Bölgesi'nde yılın tüm mevsimlerinin besi başı mevsimi olarak geçilebileceğini ortaya koymuştur
The aim of this study was determine the effects of starting season on fattening performance of Polish Holstein bulls. Twenty year/ing bul/s were allocated into two season groups consisting ten animals in each. The first group was put on trial in early December while the second group in early June. The fattening period was 180 day for the both groups. During the fattening, the average daily live weight gain and intakes of dry matter for per kg live weight gain were found as 1.170 kg and 8. 24 kg in Winter group, 1.167 kg and 9.13 kg in Summer group. The differences between the two season groups for ali fattening characteristics except to intakes of dry matter for per kg live weight gain between 90 and 180 days was not found statistically signifıcant. When the research is completely considered it was concluded that the ali seasons of year in South Marmara Region could be chosen as starting season in fattening studies.
