Abstract
A greenhouse experiment, with a noncalcareous soil having pH of 5.8 using two Lentil varieties, was conducted. Pots were divided info two groups; one group received 450 g CaCO3 for each pot and other group none. Nitrogen applications were as follows: N1 : 0.35 g N/pot, N1 +B :0.35N/pot + inoculation with Rhizobium, N2: 1.5 g N/ pot. Phosphorus was applied at the rates of 0,02, 0.4 and 0.8g P/pot. The results indicated that Lentil varieties used were highly sensitive to low pH level, and CaCO3 application was necessary lo get a satisfactory yield. lnoculation to the soils with Rhizobium increased the seed yield significantly, but the effect of inoculation on the N content of seeds was insignificant. The phosphorus A greenhouse experiment, with a noncalcareous soil having pH of 5.8 using two Lentil varieties, was conducted. Pots were divided info two groups; one group received 450 g CaCO3 for each pot and other group none. Nitrogen applications were as follows:N1 : 0.35 g N/pot, N1+B :0.35N/pot + inoculation with Rhizobium, N2 : 1.5 g N/ pot. Phosphorus was applied at the rates of 0, 0.2, 0.4 and 0.8g P/pot. The results indicated that Lentil varieties used were highly sensitive to low pH level, and CaCO3 application was necessary to get a satisfactory yield. lnoculation to the soils with Rhizobium increased the seed yield significantly, but the effect of inoculation on the N content of seeds was insignificant. The phosphorus fertilization also increased the seed yield of Lentil. In this experiment, the effects of CaCO3, N and P application on the nutrients content of seeds and statures were also investigated.
