Item Tiyatro çevirisi ve sorunları(Uludağ Üniversitesi, 1993) Erten, AsaletDramatic translation is a special field of translation with its own rules and requirements. it differs from the other kinds of literary translation because it requires botlı to be read and performned. Moreover, a dramatic text can not be translated in the same way as a prose text and here lies the main problem: Whetlıer the text is to be translated as a purely literary text or is it translated in a functional process, that is to say, for performance. But it is impossible to separate the written text from the performance aspect. Hence, the task of the translator is based on the semantic equivalence between the written text and its performance aspect. On the other hand, the playability aspect of the text is a prerequisite for the translator too. This brings an extra dimension to the written text that the translator must somehow be able to cope with. Therefore, it can be said that the dramatic translator's task is difficult to achieve and a collaboration with a playwright, director and players may lessen the difficulties that the translation comes across.
