Item Antimicrobial and water repellency performance of polypropylene outdoor fabrics subjected to sequential finishing processes(Bursa Uludağ Üniversitesi, 2021-10-19) Günaydın, Gizem Karakan; Çeven, Erhan Kenan; Kut, Dilek Toprakkaya; Bursa Uludağ Üniversitesi/Mühendislik Fakültesi/Tekstil Mühendisliği Bölümü.; 0000-0003-3283-4117; 0000-0002-9059-0838Polypropylene fabrics are one of the most preferred products for outdoor textiles. With the risks posed by the pandemic in the last year, outdoor textiles are expected to have some additional features such as antibacterial, antivirus, antimildew properties. Antimicrobial finishing and water repellency treatment may be applied consecutively on polypropylene fabrics. This research aims to investigate the effect of sequential finishing process by applying of different antimicrobial chemical ratio (0, 5 and 10 g/l) and fluorocarbon-based water repelling substance (0, 30 and 50 g/l) on antimicrobial efficiency and water repellency grades of outdoor fabrics. According to the results of statistical analyses, it was determined that antimicrobial efficiency against S. aureus and C. albicans was statistically influenced from process type at significance level of 0.05, while antimicrobial efficiency against E.coli microorganism was not statistically influenced from process type. Antimicrobial activity of outdoor samples was more satisfying against S. aureus microorganism. Water repellency results generally improved as the applied amount of water repellent substance increased for the fabrics treated with the same amount of antimicrobial substance.Item BIM-based energy analysis and design tools for leed certification(Bursa Uludağ Üniversitesi, 2021-11-08) Seyis, Senem; Güven, Gürşans; Bayar, BerkantGreen building rating systems (GBRSs) are developed to assist Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) professionals to measure building performance and fulfill the requirements of sustainable design and construction. Designing high-performance buildings according to GBRSs with the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM)-based energy analysis and design tools promotes sustainable construction, helps reduction of carbon footprint, and overall eases the green building certification process. Although previous studies addressed the use of BIM in LEED (Leadership in Environmental and Energy Design) certification; limited number of studies focused on using BIM-based tools for examining credits and requirements of LEED v4. The objective of this study is to demonstrate in what ways BIM-based energy analysis and design tools can support project teams in pursuit of LEED certification for residential projects. A literature review and case study were conducted, and Autodesk Revit Green Building Studio, eQUEST, EnergyPlus, and IES-VE tools were examined in terms of achieving LEED v4 Building Design and Construction for Multifamily Midrise rating system credits. Results demonstrate that these tools can perform 17 LEED credits. This study determines the pros and cons of these four BIM-based tools in terms of the LEED v4 BD+C MM rating system. This study also contributes to the AEC industry and literature with four decision-making flowcharts that are developed as guidelines for AEC professionals to conduct BIM-based LEED certification processes more effectively.Item Determination of temperature variabilities and trends in Turkey(Bursa Uludağ Üniversitesi, 2021-08-19) Çelebioğlu, Tuğba; Tayanç, Mete; Oruç, Halil NurullahA comprehensive study has been carried out for Turkey to investigate temperature variabilities and trends in a 50-year period of 1969-2018. Daily temperature data belonging to 174 meteorological stations which was collected from Turkish Meteorological State Service was used in this research. Temporal and spatial variability of temperature have been studied by linear regression, 3-yr moving average and non-parametric Mann-Kendall test. Yearly and seasonally average temperature of each region has been formed from analysis of daily average temperature for this time period. Temperature increase in this recent half century time period is found to be in the Eastern Anatolia Region with a value of 1.74°C/50 years. The regions with the highest seasonal temperature increases are estimated to be the Aegean Region (1.61°C) in autumn, Eastern Anatolia Region (2.37°C) in winter, Eastern Anatolia Region (1.84°C) in spring and Marmara Region in summer (2.79°C). Moreover, yearly temperature trends showed increasing trends at 99% confidence interval in most stations. Increasing trends at 99% confidence interval have been confirmed in most regions from analyzing seasonally and yearly temperature trends.Item An eigenvalue solution of functionally graded nanobeam with an attached spring mass system(Bursa Uludağ Üniversitesi, 2021-10-08) Küpeli, Togay; Çavuş, Yakup Harun; Uzun, Büşra; Yaylı, Mustafa Özgür; Bursa Uludağ Üniversitesi/Mühendislik Fakültesi/İnşaat Mühendisliği Bölümü.; 0000-0002-5921-8667; 0000-0002-6607-9650; 0000-0002-7636-7170; 0000-0003-2231-170XNanobeams are now widely used in numerous vibration frequency research. In this study, an eigenvalue problem has used to determine the vibration frequency analysis of the buckyball and spring attached to the end of the nanobeam. The vibration frequencies of the system may be discovered using a single (2x2) matrix in this eigenvalue problem. A mathematical method for analyzing sensors has attached to nanobeams is presented in this paper. The results, which is obtained in this study, has showed a result that has compatible with the flicker frequency studies conducted in the literature, and the results have presented in tables and graphics.Item Energy, exergy and thermoeconomic analysis of a natural gas assisted geothermal central heating system(Bursa Uludağ Üniversitesi, 2021-09-24) Yamankaradeniz, Nurettin; Şahmerdan, Orhan; Bursa Uludağ Üniversitesi/Mühendislik Fakültesi/Makine Mühendisliği Bölümü.; Bursa Uludağ Üniversitesi/Fen Bilimleri Enstitüsü/Makine Mühendisliği Bölümü.; 0000-0003-1657-2604; 0000-0001-8129-6808In this work, a natural gas assisted geothermal central heating system in northwestern Turkey utilising low enthalpy geothermal fluid and natural gas as the sources for space heating was analyzed. The study comprised energy, exergy and thermoeconomic analyses of the system under hybrid operating conditions (i.e., from 1 January 2020 to 31 March 2020). In this paper, the optimum design of non traditional tuned mass dampers (NT-TMD) attached to a damped main structure under harmonic excitation was investigated. Unlike the traditional TMD, the damping element in NT-TMD is directly connected to the ground. In this study, the effectiveness of NT-TMD on the attenuation of vibrations on the damped main system under harmonic load is investigated. The optimum parameters of the NT-TMD are obtained by using the hybrid pattern search (HPS) technique. According to numerical results, it is seen that non-traditional TMD is more effective than traditional TMD in reducing vibration.
