Item Designing a prototype LPG injection electronic control unit for a carburetted gasoline engine(Uludağ Üniversitesi, 2015-07-03) Sürmen, Ali; Erkuş, Barış; Karamangil, M. İhsan; Uludağ Üniversitesi/Mühendislik Fakültesi/Otomotiv Mühendisliği Bölümü.In this study, the originally carburetted gasoline engine was converted to gas-phase liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) injection engine by using an aftermarket LPG conversion kit's components except the electronic control unit (ECU). Instead of aftermarket LPG injection ECU, the ECU which was designed considering the effects of electromagnetic interference (EMI), was used for controlling injection. Designed ECU was used in performance tests at different engine conditions and the results obtained with LPG injection were compared with the results obtained with LPG carburetion. According to the performance test results, LPG injection ECU designed in this study could help to achieve low exhaust emissions and high engine performance.Item An economic analysis of residential PV system for Adıyaman, Turkey(Uludağ Üniversitesi, 2015-06-22) Soğukpınar, Haci; Bozkurt, İsmailSolar energy constitutes the main source of all energy sources and it is one of the most important renewable energy sources in terms of huge potential. As others, energy sources not just in certain places in the world, everywhere have the potential where the sun rises and set. Turkey is located on the sunny area and solar energy generation is quite rich in potential. Together with the substantial increase in the efficiency of photovoltaic cells, generating electricity from solar energy is becoming increasingly common. Especially in places where no grid connection, photovoltaic cells is very useful in supplying the energy needs. In this study, Turkey's solar energy potential was analyzed, and PV systems to meet the electricity needs of a home were analyzed economically. Consequently, in order to meet the electricity needs of a house in Adiyaman conditions that require a surface area of 24 m2 with a PV system, and this system was determined to be able to amortize itself in 10 years.Item Effects of plasma and ozone treatments on tensile and whiteness properties of 100 % silk(Uludağ Üniversitesi, 2015-04-25) Balcı, Nurşah; Ömeroğulları, Zeynep; Kut, Dilek; Eren, Hüseyin Aksel; Uludağ Üniversitesi/Mühendislik Fakültesi/Tekstil Mühendisliği Bölümü.In this study raw and degummed silk fabrics are treated with low frequency oxygen plasma and ozone in order to investigate the effects on the physical properties of silk. Plasma and ozone treatments are performed individually and in combined order for 5, 10 and 15 min. The yellowness and whiteness values are determined after the plasma and ozone treatments. The tensile strengths of treated and untreated silk fabrics are measured. The SEM images of the surfaces of silk fabrics are investigated and the combined effect of ozone and plasma treatments are discussed after each test. Results indicate that there is more significant decrease in ozone treatment, considering decrease in whiteness indexes and increase in yellowness values of silk fabrics when compared to the plasma treatment. Generally, when the treatment time of plasma or ozone is increased, increase of yellowness and decrease of whiteness become clear.Item Modeling an optoelectronic system which includes one LED and one photodiode(Uludağ Üniversitesi, 2015-04-16) Özütürk, Erdem; Uludağ Üniversitesi/Mühendislik Fakültesi/Elektrik-Elektronik Mühendisliği Bölümü.In this study, the model relations of an optoelectronic system which include a LED and a photodiode which are connected with the information of light have been obtained. The voltage which measured from the anode of photodiode is used as proportional value with radiant power of LED. Because of using this value as model parameter instead of radiant power, all the magnitudes that used in the model relations are electrical magnitudes. The system equation can be expended by adding the information of optical medium that the light has been passed through, if it necessary.Item Scattering of plane waves by a half-plane at the interface of two isorefractive media(Uludağ Üniversitesi, 2015-05-26) Başdemir, Hüsnü DenizScattering of plane waves by a half-plane at the boundary of two isorefractive media is analyzed. The E-polarization case is taking into account. The results were analyzed numerically and compared with a similar previous study. The results are consistent with each other.
