    In this report the author has made a research on the various proverbs of the Turkish and French languages. As a result they have about 100 proverbs in common. Sometimes these proverbs are translatable almost word for word, sometimes they express the same idea with different terms. Common sense is certainly the main reason for these concordances but transmission and exchanges are not factors that can be totally rejected. Only new historical and philologic researches could throw a light on the origin and the itinerary of the proverbs in the world.
