Item Evaluation of nutritional effects of different levels of enzymatic fructose and sugar syrup on the half life and bacterial flora of the bee digestive system(Bursa Uludağ Üniversitesi, 2020-05-27) Dehkordi, Majid Sadreriahi; Abadi, Hamid Reza Karimi Saeed; Shahraki, Amir Davar Foroozandeh; Esfahani, Mohammad Behjatian; Jazi, Masoud Boroumand; Teli, Abdulahad Shaddel; Shahryar, Habib AghdamThe research was carried out in a completely randomized design with 6 treatments and 6 replications in the bee incubator (Apis Mellifera Meda) from the second half of May 2019 till the end of July 2018 in Isfahan Agricultural and Natural Resources Research Center. In order to evaluate the nutritional effects of different levels of enzymatic fructose (0, 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50%) and sugar (50, 40, 30, 20, 10 and 0%) on the longevity and bacterial flora of the bee digestive system, mean comparison between experimental treatments showed that the lowest longevity and half-life between experimental levels was related to treatment with 50% fructose (P <0.05). The longevity of control treatment and treatments with 10% fructose were significant at 38.8 and 32.2 days, respectively, and the lowest feed intake was also observed at 50% fructose (P <0.05). Maximum and minimum Lactobacillus bacteria population in the bee digestive system inside cage were 10% fructose with 8.30(log CFU/g) and 50% fructose, respectively. The bacterial population of coliforms in the digestive system of bees inside the cage was the lowest with 10% fructose and the highest with 50% fructose (P <0.05).Item Pyrethrum an organic and natural pesticide(Bursa Uludağ Üniversitesi, 2020-05-18) Sun, Wenli; Shahrajabian, Mohamad Hesam; Cheng, QiPyrethrum (Tanacetum cineraiifolium) is a perennial plant in the family of Asteraceae which is cultivated for the production of six closely related esters called pyrethrins, which possess insecticidal properties. Pyrethrins can be separated into two groups of three ester compounds: pyrethrin I and II. The pyrethrin I fraction contains chrysanthemic acid products, including pyrethrin I, cinerin I, and jasmolin I. The pyrethrin II fraction is derived from pyrethric acid made up of pyrethrin II, cinerin II, and jasmolin II. Using natural pesticide may lead to organic farming, and advantage of organic farming is more beneficial to biodiversity and the environment, and of course organic produce reduces dietary exposure to pesticides. Organic farmers can use pyrethrins as an insecticide for fruit and vegetable crops. Easily degraded by oxygen, light and temperature, pyrethrum compounds are environmentally friendly and compatible with organic farming.Item Considering white gold, cotton, for its fiber, seed oil, traditional and modern health benefits(Bursa Uludağ Üniversitesi, 2020-05-22) Shahrajabian, Mohamad Hesam; Sun, Wenli; Cheng, QiCotton (Gossypium L.) has been a fundamental natural resource since the origin of various civilizations and still remains as one of the most major plant species for humans. Cotton has a diversity of applications, principally medicinal and many other usages such as pigments, derivatives for cattle feed, different uses of the oil extracts and etc. Cottonseed oil has a ration of 2:1 of polyynsaturated to saturated fatty acids and generally consists of 65-70% unsaturated fatty acids including 18-24% monounsaturated (oleic) and 42- 52% polyunsaturated (linoleic), and 26-35% saturated (palmitic and stearic). The most important health benefits of cotton is treat respiratory diseases, treat skin problems, treat wounds, beneficial for breastfeeding mothers, a good cure for rat bite, an appropriate cure for scorpion bite, for joint and eye pains, for swollen legs, for removing bacteria in teeth, and alternative medicine for various diseases such as cancer, HIV and etc. Cotton seed oil mostly extracted from Gossypium hirsutum and Gossypium herbaceum, that are also grown for cotton fiber and animal feed. Gossypol is one of the most effective ingredients, both in traditional pharmaceutical practices and alternative modern medicinal preparations. It is a toxic polyphenolic bisesquiterpene which may have antifertility and antiviral properties. The obtained findings suggest potential of cotton as a natural resource in pharmaceutical industries.Item Consumer behaviour and purchase ıntention for organic food(Bursa Uludağ Üniversitesi, 2020-05-22) Erdal, Burcu; Turhan, Şule; Bursa Uludağ Üniversitesi/Ziraat Fakültesi/Tarım Ekonomisi Bölümü.It is a sad fact that applications made to increase productivity in food products have negative effects on the environment and human health. In addition, consumers' choice of food more consciously leads to an increase in demand for organic foods. In this study, the buying behavior and loyalty of organic food customers are examined with 400 participants in Bursa. While 85% of the respondents consume organic products, 15% of them do not consume organic products. According to the results of the survey, most of the people who consume organic products are university graduates. Organic product markets are preferred for the supply of organic products by the consumers. Product appearance is effective for buying by 54% of individuals who consume organic products. Most consumed organic products are milk and dairy products. In this study, an attempt was made to measure the knowledge and awareness levels of people living in Bursa about organic food. The research is thought to provide beneficial contributions to organic food sector marketing activities and national agriculture.Item Traditional orchards and drivers of reproductive performance in a Northern Algerian population of laughing doves (spilopelia senegalensis)(Bursa Uludağ Üniversitesi, 2020-05-22) Boucherit, Khayreddine; Elafri, Ali; Brahmia, Hafid; Halassi, Ismahen; Maazi, Mohamed Cherif; Houhamdi, MoussaAs a good example of species which have adapted in specific anthropogenic habitats as traditional orchards, we studied the breeding ecology of a northern Algerian population of Laughing Doves. We built multifactorial models for three components of Laughing Dove reproductive performance *clutch size, number of hatchlings, and number of fledglings* using generalized linear models (GLM). None of the studied factors: orchard type, laying period, nest location or nest size was affecting clutch size. Number of chicks hatched per nest was affected by orchards type and laying period. Based on model averaged estimates, the hatching success of Laughing Dove was negatively related to “olive orchards and early timing of breeding” (β = −0.53; z = −2.16; p = 0.3). Whereas the number of chicks fledged per nest only differed with orchard type, and model averaged estimates showed a negative relation to olive orchards (β = −0.30 ± 0.17; z = −1.72, p = 0.28). No other variables, horizontal and vertical location or nest size, were related to the variation in breeding performance. So, we suggest that the main drivers of nest failures and reproductive performance of Laughing Doves were egg predation and other variables which are not investigated.Item Effects of osmotic conditioning treatments at different temperatures on mean germination time and rate of heliotropium greuteri(Bursa Uludağ Üniversitesi, 2020-05-17) Demirkaya, Mustafa; Şekerci, Akife Dalda; Teke, Eyüp; Gülşen, OsmanHeliotropium is a good ornamental plant with pleasant fragrance and beautiful vegetative pattern in the nature. In seed propagation, there are some problems such as extended germination time and low germination rate. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of some selected osmotic conditioners on Heliotropium seeds. Osmotic conditioning (OC) was performed in seeds with humidification, water, methyl jasmonate (MeJA) (1.0 mM) and seaweed (Ascophyllum nodosum) extract (1:500 seaweed extract) for 1, 2 and 3 days at 20 °C and 30 °C. After the treatment, seeds were characterized for germination tests at 25 °C and 35 °C. Germination indexes, germination rates and mean germination times of seeds were determined. The treatment of water for 3 days gave the highest germination rate with 23 % when the lowest germination rate (4 %) was determined in the control group. When the mean germination times of Heliotropium seeds were examined, the earliest germination was observed humification 2 days treatment (8.3 days). So, OC treatments made with seaweed and methyl jasmonate made positive contributions to the germination of Heliotropium seeds.
