Bursa, the 4th biggest city of Turkey, located in a prominent position in terms of the buildings reflecting the Ottoman history, baths, bazaars, natural beauty and the winter tourism. The most remarkable place of Bursa, Uludag (2,543 m asl), the most significant elevation of the Marmara Region, has another importance owing to the plant species that are rare for that region. Uludag is also very rich because of its plant diversity. Here, Abies bornmulleriana (Uludag Fir) which belongs to Bursa has formed forests. Bursa is the only area where this Abies species grow naturally. Along with its economic importance, Uludag fir is also a preferred taxon in the landscape designs because of its decorative feature. In this study, some information about Bursa, which is an industrial and cultural city, and its most important mountain, Uludag has been shown. The importance of Uludag Fir has also been emphasized and its native deployed areas, botanical characteristics and the usage opportunities in the landscape designs have been explained.

(Tarbiat Modares Univ, 2019-01-01) Akdeniz, N. Seyidoğlu; SEYİDOĞLU AKDENİZ, NİLÜFER; TÜMSAVAŞ, ZEYNAL; Zencırkıran, M.; ZENCİRKIRAN, MURAT; Bursa Uludağ Üniversitesi/Ziraat Fakültesi.; AAH-1676-2021; AAH-1574-2021
Proper planning and design of transportation networks in the cities is an important subject, and the avenues, boulevards and refuges in the cities give the cities an aesthetic and functional feature as open green spaces. In addition to their aesthetic qualities, planting in urban areas also plays an important role in preventing pollution and improving air quality in the cities. In this context, the existing woody plant taxa were identified on the boulevards located in Nilufer district of Bursa in Turkey. The soil characteristics and soil heavy metal accumulations of these woody plant taxa were also determined. In the studied boulevards, there were 34 genera, 31 species, 10 subspecies and varieties belonging to 23 families. Among the total woody species gathered, 72.73% of the woody species were tree species and the rest were shrubs. The soils found on the boulevards were usually sandy and clay loam, and inadequate in terms of organic matter contents. On the other hand, the heavy metal deposits in the territories of the boulevards situated in the industrial zones were higher than those in other housing areas but below the permissible values.

The urban parks, where people interact with nature, be socialize and relieve stress, are located in urban open green spaces, and their importance has increased even more with pandemi in todays. Parks should be designed within the framework of design approaches that allow everyone to benefit equally and should serve all users in the city. Especially special arrangements are necessary for people with disabilities who are known as the disadvantaged group among urban people use these parks. Designs should be improved in accordance with the standars determined for the people with disabilities. It's required to evaluate the factors that will be constraints for them and to ensure effective use. The observation and evaluation techniques were used for determine the parks, entrances, parking lots, road circulation, etc. Afterward, the data were analyzed by evaluating within the scope of the standards available for people with disabilities and their suitability. As a result, it was observed that the parks partially comply with the standards and there are some important situations that will cause problems for people with disabilities. Although there are no items such as tactile surfaces and reinforcement buttons in the parks, it has been determined that there are deficiencies such as level differences on the road floors, the absence of stairs and ramp solutions, and also the inconsistency of the dimensions of the reinforcement elements. In this case, In this case, the obstacles in front of the people with disabilities may be removed and a comfortable circulation may be provided by solving the existing problems and completing the deficiencies.
