Abstract

A mathematical model of a water supply system is constructed, and an effective method to minimise costs associated with this system is developed based on coordinate and gradient methods that minimise the descent criterion function. This article shows that the problem criterion function is a convex function, and the area of admissible decisions for the given problem represents a convex polyhedron. It is proven that any site in a network can be optimally designed based on no more than 2 various diameters. The algorithm is developed using Builder C ++ 3.1 and is introduced in a commercially accessible format. We note that the decision is in line with the diameters of pipes and pump stations used in existing industrial applications.
