Abstract
In this study, carried out in 2008 in Rize Province which is an important kiwifruit area of Turkey, was determined Hemiberlesia rapax (Comstock), Ceroplastes sinensis Del Guercio, Coccus hesperidum L. and Pseudaulacaspis pentagona Targioni Tozzeti. H. rapax and P. pentagona were found common species. It is estimated that these two insects will be potential pests for kiwifruit. This is the first report of these scale insects on kiwifruit in Turkey. Brief information was provided about the biology, distribution and general characteristics of these insects.
