Abstract
Feeding costs are the main item, accounting for up to 60 - 70 % of the livestock production. Bursa province has an important place in the Turkish livestock production with its own farm animal population and compound feed mills. The main problem of the compound feed production is providing the raw material. In recent years, Turkish compound feed industry became a net importer which is completly depending on vitamin-mineral premixes, fish-meal, and semi-dependent on the oil cakes (1/3 of the needs). On the other hand, one of the biggest problem concerning the marketing of the compound feed, is demand fluctations which is affected from imported raw materials. Continuosly increases in foreign currencies also affects the cost of the product. These are the main problems that the dealers come across.
