Abstract
A patient with Parkinson's Disease for the past 16 years underwent a right frontal craniotomy and through transcortical approach a 2x2x3 mm piece of mesencephalon obtained from a 3 months old fetus was implanted into the caudate nucleus. In early postoperative period, tremor ceased and rigidity improved progressively. 4 months after operation neurological examination according to Webster's Disability Score revealed 34 % improvement compared to preoperative period.
