Kars'ta Rus Dönemi'nde (1878-1918) inşa edilen yapıların cephe özelliklerinin analizi

Abstract

Kars, 1877-1878 Osmanlı-Rus Savaşı sonrası imzalanan Berlin Antlaşması ile yaklaşık 40 yıl kadar Çarlık Rusyası hakimiyetinde kalmıştır. Bu dönemde Kars'ta askeri, idari, demografik, kültürel gibi birçok farklı alanda değişimler yaşanmıştır. Rus döneminde özellikle kentsel doku ve mimaride çok önemli gelişmeler olmuştur. Ruslar Kars Kalesi dibindeki eski yerleşim alanını olduğu gibi bırakıp, kentin güneyindeki düzlükte, ızgara sistemli yeni bir kent düzeni oluşturmuş ve bu alanda batılı tarzda yeni yapılar inşa etmişlerdir. Bugünkü kent dokusunun oluşmasında etkin role sahip olan Rus hakimiyeti döneminde, Baltık üslubunda inşa edilmiş yapılar işlev değişikliği sebebi ile birtakım değişimler geçirmiştir. Bu değişimler çoğunlukla yapıların plan düzeninde gerçekleşse de cephelerini de bir miktar etkilemiştir. Çalışmada yapıların özgün cephe özellikleri ortaya konulmaya çalışılmıştır. Giriş bölümünde çalışmanın amacı ve kapsamı, kaynak araştırması, çalışma alanıyla ilgili genel bilgiler ve çalışmanın yöntemi anlatılmış, ikinci bölümde Kars'ın Rus dönemine kadar olan tarihsel ve mimari gelişimi aktarılmıştır. Üçüncü bölümde Rus döneminde yaşanan gelişmelerle birlikte ortaya çıkan yeni kentleşme düzeni ve mimari ele alınmıştır. Çalışmanın dördüncü bölümünde ise Rus dönemi sivil mimarisine ait örneklerin cephe analizi yapılmış ve cephe özellikleri ortaya konulmuştur. Son bölümü oluşturan sonuç bölümünde, dördüncü bölümde elde edilen verilerin değerlendirmesi yapılmıştır.

Kars remained under the rule of the Tsarist Russia for about 40 years with the Berlin Treaty signed after the Ottoman-Russian War of 1877-1878. During this period, there have been rapid developments in various areas such as military, administrative, demographic and cultural in Kars. During the Russian era, there have been very important developments especially in architecture and urban fabric. The Russians, leaving the old settlement area under Kars Castle as it was, created a new urban layout with a grid system on the plain in the south of the city and built new structures in western style. In the period of Russian domination, which played an active role in the formation of today's urban fabric, constructions built in the Baltic style have undergone some changes due to the change of function These changes were mostly in the plan order of the buildings but they affected the facades to some extent. In this study, original facade features of the buildings were tried to be revealed. In the introduction part, the purpose and scope of the study, the literature review, the general information about the study area and the method of study was explained. In the second part, the historical and architectural development of Kars until the Russian period was conveyed. In the third part, new urbanization plan and architecture emerged together with developments experienced in Russian period. In the fourth part of the work, the facades of the samples belonging to Russian civil architecture was analyzed and the facade features were revealed.. In the final section, the data obtained in the fourth section were evaluated.
