Abstract
Atatürk İlkeleri ve İnkılâp Tarihi ile ilgili bu Giriş Anketi, 2004- 2005 eğitim ve öğretim yılında Celal Bayar Üniversitesinin çeşitli fakülte, yüksekokul ve meslek yüksekokullarının birinci sınıfına kayıt yaptıran öğrencilere uygulanmıştır. Bu ankettin ana amacı, öğrencilerin ilk ve ortaöğretimde kazandıkları bilgileri belirlemek ve üniversitelerde bu dersin öğretimi ile ilgili yönlendirme yapmaktır. Anketten elde edilen sonuçlar hiç de iyi değildir. Anket sonuçları, öğrencilerin temel bilgilerden büyük ölçüde yoksun olduklarını göstermektedir. Öğrenciler, gerekli kavram bilgisine sahip olmadıkları gibi, ne Osmanlı Devleti’nin çöküş süreci ile Türk İnkılâbı arasında ilişki kurabilmektedirler ve ne de Kurtuluş Savaşı’nın hazırlık ve savaş dönemi olaylarının farkına varabilmektedirler. Ayrıca anket, Kurtuluş Savaşı sonrası iç ve dış politika konuları ve Atatürkçü Düşünce Sistemi ile ilgili yeterli bilgiye sahip olmadıklarını göstermektedir. İlk ve ortaöğretim kurumları, bu dersle ilgili durumunu tekrar gözden geçirmeli ve eksikliklerini gidermelidir. Üniversiteler öğrencilerinin bilgi seviyelerini göz önünde bulundurarak, bu dersin öğretim yöntemleri üzerinde bazı değişiklikler yapmalıdır.
The opinion poll about the lesson of Ataturk’s Principles and Revolution was carried out among the students who enrolled the first class of various faculties, higher schools and vocational schools at Celal Bayar University in 2004-2005 academic year. The main goal of this poll is to determine the level of students’ knowledge which they gained at primary and secondary schools, and also to help to get an idea of how to teach this lesson at university level. The results obtained from the poll is not good at all. İt’s results show to a great degree that lack the basic knowledge about it. The students don’t have the necessary terminology or the ability to make connections between the process of the decline of the Ottoman Empire and the Turkish Revolution. Nor are they aware of the preparation period of the Independence War and wartime events. Apart from this, the poll also shows that they don’t have enough knowledge in terms of home and foreign after-war policies and the system of Kemalist ideology. Primary and secondary school should review their positions related to this lesson, and make up their inadequacies. Universities, keeping in mind the level of their students’ knowledge, should make some modifications in the way the lesson is taught.
