Abstract
This study was carried out for 6 months between May and October 2022, in Bursa conditions, to examine the effects of different nitrogen sources and different nitrogen doses on plant growth and grass quality in Gobi, Tifdwarf and Sydney varieties of Bermuda grass (Cynodon dactylon L.) species. The research was established according to the split-split plots experimental design in random blocks with 3 replications, the main plots were; grass varieties, nitrogen sources [ammonium nitrate (26%), worm manure (1.5%) were placed in the sub-plots, and nitrogen doses (0 and 5 g/m²) were placed in the sub-plots. The main parcel dimensions are 4 m x 6 m, and the sub-plot dimensions are 1 m x 2 m. According to the results, no statistical difference was found in the observations made in terms of turf color and quality values among Bermudagrass varieties. While clipping yield measurements of Bermuda varieties in June, July and August were found to be statistically significant, only September was nonsignificant. Among nitrogen sources, all observations were found to be statistically significant in terms of turf color values, while in terms of quality values, all quality observations except May and June observations were found to be statistically significant. Clipping yield was statistically significant in all measurements. Ammonium nitrate had significant effects on color, quality and clipping yield compared to vermicompost. Although vermicompost did not perform as superior as chemical fertilizers, in some of the color and quality observations, it performed above the acceptable color and quality limit of 6.
