Abstract
The city of Balkh, one of the important centers of Khorasan, was established in the south of the Ceyhun river in the north of Afghanistan. Although the city of Balkh, which was built by Kiyumers before Christ, is located in today's Afghanistan geography and is associated with Afghanistan, it is historically older and culturally more famous than Afghanistan. It got its name from the old Persian word “Bahtriş”. It is a place where very ancient civilizations before Islam were born and developed. Hz. The city of Balkh, which was conquered in the time of Osman, has an important place in the development of Islamic civilization. Many famous personalities grew up in Balkh, which is known by various names such as Dar al-fukaha, Kubbet al-Islam and Umm al-bilad by Islamic geographers. Balkh also has an important political position in the history of Islam. Balkh region has left its old and central role to the city of Mezar-i Sharif today. Balkh is a large and important province of Afghanistan, and its population consists of Tajiks, Hazaras, Uzbeks and Turkmens.
