Abstract
Endotel engeli, bunun kırılması ateroskleroz (As)'da önemlidir. Zedelenme olan kısımlarda EH'lerinin rejenerasyon kapasitelerinin sınırlı olması (zorunlu tek tabaka halinde çoğalma) ve salgıladıkları gelişim faktör (GF) leri, kemotaktik maddeler atherogenezis'de önemli rol oynarlar. Hiperkolesterolemi'de EH'leri özellikle monositlerle ilişkiye girerek ve LDL (düşük dansiteli lipoprotein)'yi modifiye ederek As'un başlamasına ve hızlanmasına yol açarlar. Tüm bu bilgilerin EH kültürlerinden elde edildiği unutulmamalıdır. Bu nedenle insanlar hakkında sonuca giderken, daima in vivo koşullar göz önünde bulundurulmalıdır.
Endothelial cell (EC) is one of the cells which is responsible for atherogenesis. Endothelium in culture, represents a useful model. By means of them some of the biological and functional characteristics of ECs are established. Endothelial barrier and disruption of it are important in atherosclerosis (As). Limited regeneration capacity of the ECs in the injured areas (obligate monolayer growth) and the growth factors (GF)s, chemotactic substances released by them play an important role in atherogenesis. In hypercholesterolemia, ECs by interacting with monocytes and modifying LDL (low-density lipoprotein) can cause and accelerate As. One must not forget that all these findings about ECs are obtained from EC cultures. So, to come to a conclusion about humans, always in vivo conditions must be taken into notice.
